The Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) launched the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus – 7th Edition (open from 30 September to 29 November 2024, 17h Lisbon time). This call is aimed at PhD holders of any nationality or stateless with a background in any scientific area who wish to develop their scientific research or technological development activity in Portugal. FCT will ensure the funding for the hiring of the selected candidates for up to 3 years.

We are pleased to announce that we are open to expressions of interest from candidates who wish to apply with the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies (CECH), based at the University of Coimbra, as their host institution.

CECH specializes in Classical (Greek & Latin Studies, comprising History, Archaeology, Languages, Literatures and Cultures) and Humanistic Studies (including Medieval Culture, Renaissance Humanism, Neo-Latin Studies, Early Music, Philosophy, Literatures, as well as Culture and Heritage).

For this application we are especially looking for research that can relate to our General Project or the Secondary projects DIAITA Heritage: Food, Environment and Well-being,  Hermeneutic Rationality and Rewriting Myth.

Expressions of interest must be submitted until October 31 by filling out a form.

Categories of contracts available for application:

-Junior researcher – PhD holders for 5 years or less, counted as of the closing date of the application submission period, with reduced post-doctoral research experience in the scientific area to which they are applying.

-Assistant researcher – PhD holders at the closing date of the application submission period, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying.
