The Grand Egyptian Museum has announced the trial operation of several of its spaces, including its main galleries. According to an announcement on its official website, the long awaited GEM complex is offering limited access to test site readiness and the visitor experience ahead of the official opening.
Starting October 16th, the audience will have the opportunity to access the museum’s Main Galleries, Grand Hall, Grand Staircase, commercial area, and exterior gardens.
The newly opened Main Galleries are twelve meticulously curated exhibition halls hosting artifacts dating from prehistoric times to the Roman era. Through the themes of Kingship, Society, and Beliefs, visitors may explore how these elements shaped ancient Egyptian life.
The current soft opening does not include the Tutankhamun Galleries, which will remain closed until the official opening.
